6.1. A forward suspension bracket

Features of a design
Forward suspension bracket independent, on two cross-section levers from each party, with twisted cylindrical springs, with telescopic shock-absorbers and the stabilizer of cross-section stability.

Top 24 and bottom 14 (fig. 6.1) cross-section levers provide independent moving of each of forward wheels to a vertical plane (at overcoming of road obstacles).
The spherical support 10 has the same design, as the spherical hinge 25, and is connected to a rotary fist and the suspension bracket lever the same as also the hinge.
The top lever of 24 suspension brackets is connected to an arm of a cross-beam an axis attached to an arm by two bolts 20, and the bottom lever 14 is attached by a bolt-axis to a suspension bracket cross-beam.
Between an axis of the top lever and an arm the adjusting washers which change of quantity regulate disorder of wheels and a longitudinal angle of slope of an axis of turn of a wheel are established. Both levers of a suspension bracket are connected to axes through резинометаллические hinges (сайлентблоки), providing беззазорное connection of these details. Such hinge includes the rubber plug, external and internal metal plugs.
To the bottom levers are attached by bolts of a cup of springs of a forward suspension bracket.
In a rotary fist two bearings – internal 9 and external 7 in which internal rings with a tightness the wheel nave is established are established. On a nave the brake disk 5 is established. From outside a brake board the nave is condensed by an epiploon 6, and outside – a cap 1. Regulate an inhaling of bearings of a nave a nut of disposable using 2.
Springs 13 forward suspension brackets cylindrical. Shock-absorbers 28 forward suspension brackets – telescopic, bilaterial action. The top ends of shock-absorbers through rubber pillows are fixed in arms of a cross-beam of a forward suspension bracket, and bottom are attached to arms of the bottom levers.
Lateral lists of a body at passage of turns the stabilizer compensates 23 cross-section stability fixed through rubber plugs 11 on ends on the bottom levers, and in an average part – on a cover of a reducer of the forward bridge and on body longerons.

Check of a technical condition of details of a suspension bracket on the car
All checks and works spend from below the car established on the lift or a viewing ditch (with the hung out forward wheels).

       GOOD ADVICE
For convenience remove a corresponding wheel.

On rubber details of a suspension bracket are not supposed:
– Signs of ageing of rubber;
– Mechanical damages.
On резинометаллических hinges are not supposed:
– Signs of ageing, a crack, unilateral выпучивание a rubber file;
– A separation of a rubber file from armature. Defective details replace.

       THE PREVENTION
Special attention turn on mechanical damages (deformations, cracks, etc.) suspension bracket elements, especially levers.

Check and backlash adjustment in bearings of naves of forward wheels
At the increased backlash in bearings of naves of forward wheels in a certain range of speeds vibration on a steering wheel is observed. Thus non-uniformly (stains) tyres wear out, and also the resource of bearings sharply decreases. To resource decrease conducts also a backlash total absence at which hard rotation of a nave is observed.

       THE NOTE
The backlash in bearings of naves of forward wheels should be no more than 0,15 mm.

It be required to you: a key for bolts of wheels, a key on 27, a hammer.
1. Establish the car on support.

       GOOD ADVICE
Backlash most precisely to define by means of the indicator.
In the absence of the indicator shake the hung out wheel in a vertical plane. If you have felt люфт, probably, it is necessary to adjust a backlash in bearings. For definitive check of the bearing ask the assistant to press a pedal of a brake and to keep it in the pressed condition. Again shake a wheel in a vertical plane. Disappearance люфта wheels at such check confirms necessity of adjustment of a backlash for bearings.

2. Remove a corresponding wheel.
3. Remove a decorative cap, расконтрите a nut of a nave and...
4.... Keeping a nave approaching воротком from проворачивания, turn away a nut.

       GOOD ADVICE
At adjustment necessarily replace nuts of naves new as after adjustment the nut can occupy former position and it it will not be possible reliably законтрить as the fillet in a proper place will be already damaged previous контровкой. As a last resort at possibility use a nut from other car.

5. Screw and tighten a new nut of a nave a twisting moment 19,6 Нм (2 кгсм), simultaneously turning a nave approximately on 90 in both directions 2–3 times for self-installation of bearings.
6. Ослабьте an adjusting nut and again tighten its moment 6,8 Нм (0,7 кгсм).
7. Release an adjusting nut approximately on 25 .
8. Stop a nave nut (having hushed up a nut fillet in two grooves on a pin of the case of the external hinge of a drive of a forward wheel).
9. Establish the removed details in an order, the return to removal.

       GOOD ADVICE
After backlash adjustment in nave bearings be convinced of ease of rotation of a wheel.
Definitive check of correctness of adjustment spend, having estimated degree of heating of naves after run of the car about 1 km without use of brakes.

Greasing replacement in bearings of a nave of a forward wheel
Replace greasing in bearings with the periodicity resulted in the service book. If it is not enough greasing or it is polluted, bearings will quickly fail.
It be required to you: keys on 13 (two), динамометрический a key, a key for nuts of wheels, flat-nose pliers, a screw-driver, a hammer, pure greasing Litol-24, capacity for washing of details.
1. Remove a wheel.
2. Remove brake pad (Replacement brake колодок the forward brake mechanism see).
3. Remove a support (Removal and installation of a support of the forward brake mechanism see), without disconnecting a hose of a hydrodrive of brakes, and, having taken a support aside, fix it (for example, a wire) so that the support did not hang on a hydrodrive hose.
4. Take out from an arm the rubber holder together with a hose.
5. Расшплинтуйте a nut of a finger of the external hinge of lateral draught, turn away a nut and...
6.... Having established a stripper, выпрессуйте a finger of the hinge from a lug of the rotary lever.
7. Turn on on three nuts of bolts of fastening of the spherical hinge and...
8.... A spherical support to levers.
9. Turn away a nave nut (section 5 "Transmission", Drives of forward wheels see).
10. Take out bolts and remove a rotary fist in gathering with hinges.
11. Using approaching the mandrel, выпрессуйте a nave from internal rings of bearings.
12. Using a screw-driver, take from a nave an epiploon.

       THE NOTE
After выпрессовки the epiploon is unsuitable to the further application. Replace its new.

13. Take out a remote ring and an internal ring of the bearing.

       THE PREVENTION
Check up reliability of landing of external rings of bearings in the case of a rotary fist. Rings should not be turned from effort of a hand.

14. Wash out all details kerosene.
15. Fill with greasing an internal cavity of a rotary fist, put greasing on external and internal rings of bearings.
16. Establish in a rotary fist an internal ring of the bearing and a remote ring.
17. Запрессуйте an epiploon in a nest of a rotary fist.

       GOOD ADVICE
In quality send it is possible to use an old epiploon.

18. Establish a rotary fist in an order, the return to removal.
19. Adjust a backlash in nave bearings (Check and backlash adjustment in bearings of naves of forward wheels see).
20. With the same way replace greasing and adjust a backlash in nave bearings on the other hand the car.

Replacement of bearings of a nave of a forward wheel
External signs of necessity of removal of bearings for дефектовки are:
– The raised noise at wheel rotation;

       PREVENTIONS
Examine racetracks of internal and external rings of bearings, and also working surfaces of rollers.

Defective bearings replace necessarily together with external rings.
External and internal bearings change simultaneously.

5. Fill with greasing an internal cavity of a rotary fist, put greasing on external rings of bearings (greasing Replacement in bearings of a nave of a forward wheel see).
6. Establish in a rotary fist all removal of a detail.
7. Establish a rotary fist in an order, the return to removal.
8. Adjust a backlash in nave bearings (Check and backlash adjustment in bearings of naves of forward wheels see).

Replacement of the spherical hinge of a forward suspension bracket
If hinge check has revealed necessity of its replacement (Check of a technical condition of details of a suspension bracket see the car ), replace it.
It be required to you: keys on 13, on 22 (two), a key for nuts of wheels, a support (a screw or hydraulic jack), a metal brush, an assembly shovel, a hammer.
1. Remove a wheel.
2. Substitute under the bottom lever a support, load a suspension bracket (having lowered the car or having lifted the bottom lever a jack) so that position of levers approximately corresponded to their position under loading. Clear the spherical hinge of a dirt.
3. Take out the holder of a brake hose from an arm.
4. Ослабьте an inhaling of a nut of a finger of the hinge also turn away it. In a case проворачивания a finger (because of leaky landing or deterioration of a cone) press the lever downwards an assembly shovel, having rested it against a trailer coil of a spring.
5. Remove a hose arm.
6. Establish a stripper of spherical hinges and выпрессуйте a finger of the hinge from a lug of a rotary fist.
7. Turn away three nuts of bolts of fastening of the hinge to the lever and...
8.... Disconnect the hinge from the lever.
Take out bolts from the hinge case, remove a cover.

       THE NOTE
If you removed the hinge only for replacement of a protective cover, check up a hinge condition, turning a hand a spherical finger. The free wheeling of a finger or its jamming are not supposed.

9. Establish the new hinge or a new cover in an order, the return to removal.

       THE NOTE
After hinge replacement check up and if necessary adjust corners of installation of wheels. Take advantage of services of the workshops having the special equipment.

Replacement of a spherical support of a forward suspension bracket
If support check has revealed necessity of its replacement (Check of a technical condition of details of a suspension bracket see the car ), replace it.
It be required to you: keys on 13, on 22, on 27 (two), a key for nuts of wheels, a metal brush, a support (a screw or hydraulic jack), an assembly shovel, a hammer.
1. Remove a wheel. Substitute under the bottom lever a support, load a suspension bracket (having lowered the car or having lifted the bottom lever a jack) so that position of levers approximately corresponded to their position under loading.
2. Remove a nave cap.
3. Turn away a nave nut.

       GOOD ADVICE
The nave nut is tightened by the big moment. Therefore we recommend to use a head with strong воротком.

4. Turn away a nut of a finger of a spherical support.
5. Выпрессуйте a finger of a support from a lug of a rotary fist.

   
GOOD ADVICE
In the absence of a stripper take advantage of a hammer.
Wringing out the top lever downwards, put some sharp blows by a hammer on a lateral surface of a lug of a rotary fist to an exit of a finger from it.

6. Turn away three nuts of bolts of fastening of a support to the lever, take bolts and take aside a rotary fist, having removed a nave of a wheel with шлицев a shaft of the external hinge of a drive of a forward wheel.

       THE PREVENTION
Be cautious at removal of a nave with шлицев the hinge, do not take a shaft of the internal hinge from a reducer of the forward bridge that will lead вытеканию from the greasing bridge.

7. Remove a spherical support.

       THE NOTE
If you removed a support only for replacement of a protective cover, check up its condition, turning a hand a spherical finger. The free wheeling of a finger or its jamming are not supposed.

8. Establish a new spherical support or a new cover in an order, the return to removal.

       PREVENTIONS
After installation of a nave do not forget to adjust a backlash in bearings and to stop a nave nut (Check and backlash adjustment in bearings of naves of forward wheels see).
After replacement of a spherical support check up and if necessary adjust corners of installation of wheels. Take advantage of services of the workshops having the special equipment

Replacement of the shock-absorber of a forward suspension bracket
The shock-absorber replace at leak occurrence absorber to a liquid or loss of efficiency of clearing of fluctuations (Check of a technical condition of details of a suspension bracket see the car ).

       THE PREVENTION
Faulty shock-absorbers change only in steams (lobbies, back) or the complete set (all four).

It be required to you: keys on 6, on 17 (two).
1. Keeping a rod of the shock-absorber from проворачивания a key 1, a key 2 turn away a nut.
2. Remove a persistent washer and the top rubber pillow.
3. Turn away a nut of a bolt of the bottom hinge.
4. Take out a bolt and remove the shock-absorber.
5. Remove from a shock-absorber rod the bottom pillow, examine the shock-absorber...
6.... Rubber pillows...
7.... And the bottom hinge. If necessary replace pillows and plugs of the bottom hinge new.
8. Establish the new shock-absorber in an order, the return to removal.

       GOOD ADVICE
Before shock-absorber installation on the car extend a rod on its full course.
If you work on the lift, lower the car before assemblage of the top fastening so that the suspension bracket has been loaded by weight of the car.

Replacement of a spring of a forward suspension bracket
Replace a spring at presence at it mechanical damages or considerable deposits. Signs deposits: deterioration of smoothness of a course, frequent breakdowns of a suspension bracket; a visible warp of a forward part of the car or a considerable difference on height of the forward and back parts, appeared while in service; strongly expressed traces of impact of coils of a spring.
It be required to you: keys on 13 (two), on 17 (two), on 24, a support (a screw or hydraulic jack), a key for nuts of wheels.

       THE NOTE
On length under loading 6276 Н (640 кгс) springs are divided on two groups: the group And – is more length 192 mm; the group In – is equal length or less than 192 mm.
Springs have marks by a paint on lateral aspect of coils: group And – a white paint or not marked; group In – black. On forward and back suspension brackets springs of one class should be established. If on a back suspension bracket springs of group And installation of springs of group In on a forward suspension bracket is inadmissible are established. It is possible (but installation of springs of group And on a forward suspension bracket if on back springs of group of Century are established is extremely undesirable)
On the car at the left and on the right establish springs of one group.
Springs change in steams and together with linings.

       THE PREVENTION
Remove and establish springs with the maximum care in avoidance выстреливания springs from knot of a suspension bracket and reception of traumas. The offered way of removal of a spring without special adaptations demands certain skills.

GOOD ADVICE
At removal and installation of springs application of any universal couplers of a spring from among available in free sale is optimum.
If to establish couplers on a spring, without hooking on them for last coils, and as much as possible to pull together a spring, its installation will considerably be facilitated.

1. Remove a wheel.
2. Ослабьте a nut of an axis of the bottom lever.
3. Turn away a nut of a bolt of the bottom fastening of the shock-absorber and take a bolt.
4. Turn on two nuts скобы pillows of the stabilizer and remove скобу.
5. Поддомкратив a suspension bracket before clearing of the terminator of a course of compression, turn away three nuts of bolts of fastening of a spherical support and take out bolts.
6. Smoothly lowering the lever, release a spring and remove it.
7. Remove top and...
8.... Bottom spring linings.
9. If necessary remove the terminator of a course of compression.
10. Establish the removed details in an order, the return to removal.

       THE NOTE
Nut of an axis of the bottom lever tighten, when the suspension bracket will be loaded by weight of the car (on a viewing ditch or a platform). At work on the lift substitute under the bottom lever a support and slightly lower the car (at work on a platform lift the lever a jack) so that position of levers approximately corresponded to their position under loading.
After spring replacement check up and if necessary adjust corners of installation of wheels. Take advantage of services of the workshops having the special equipment.

Removal and installation of the bottom lever of a forward suspension bracket
Remove the lever for replacement at presence at it mechanical damages or for replacement worn out сайлентблоков (Check of a technical condition of details of a suspension bracket see the car ).

It be required to you: keys on 13 (two), on 22, a support (a screw or hydraulic jack), a key for nuts of wheels.
1. Remove a wheel. Substitute under the bottom lever a support, load a suspension bracket (having lowered the car or having lifted the bottom lever a jack) so that position of levers approximately corresponded to their position under loading.
2. Turn away three nuts of bolts of fastening of the spherical hinge to the top lever.
3. Turn on two nuts of bolts of fastening of an axis of the top lever to an arm of a cross-beam of a forward suspension bracket. In a case проворачивания bolts keep their key.
4. Remove the lever, paying attention to quantity and an arrangement...
5.... The adjusting washers established on bolts of fastening of an axis.
6. Establish the new lever in gathering with сайлентблоками and an axis in an order, the return to removal.

1. Remove the bottom lever in gathering with сайлентблоками from the car (Removal and installation of the bottom lever of a forward suspension bracket see).
2. By means of a special stripper выпрессуйте from lever eyes сайлентблоки and запрессуйте the new.

       THE NOTE

Replacement сайлентблоков the top lever of a forward suspension bracket
Сайлентблоки replace at their deterioration or damage (Check of a technical condition of details of a suspension bracket see the car ).
It be required to you: a key on 22, a special stripper for removal and installation сайлентблоков.
1. Remove the top lever in gathering with сайлентблоками and an axis from the car (Removal and installation of the top lever of a forward suspension bracket see).
2. Turn away a nut of an axis of the top lever.
3. Remove nuts and washers from an axis.
4. By means of a special stripper...

Removal and installation of the stabilizer of cross-section stability
The stabilizer remove for replacement of its bar at damage or for replacement of pillows of its fastening.
It be required to you: keys on 17, on 13.
1. Turn away four nuts скоб stabilizer fastenings to a reducer of the forward bridge and...
2.... Remove both скобы.
3. Turn away a nut скоб stabilizer fastenings to longerons of a body and...
4.... To the bottom levers of a forward suspension bracket also remove скобы.
5. Remove the stabilizer and examine it.

       THE NOTE
On pillows signs of ageing of rubber, mechanical damages, deterioration of the internal surfaces contacting to the stabilizer are not supposed.
Defective pillows replace.


       GOOD ADVICE
For simplification of installation of new pillows on a stabilizer bar grease a bar with the sated soap solution.

6. Establish the stabilizer in an order, the return to removal.

Replacement of a cross-beam of a forward suspension bracket
Cross-beam replace in following cases: presence of considerable visible mechanical damages; occurrence of fatigue cracks; impossibility to adjust corners of installation of wheels (if other means are settled).
It be required to you: keys on 10, on 14, on 15, on 17, on 19, on 22, on 24, a stripper of steering draughts, a hammer, a screw-driver.
1. Disconnect from a reducer of the forward bridge propeller a shaft and the stabilizer of cross-section stability (Removal and installation карданной transfers "and" Removal and installation of the stabilizer of cross-section stability see ).
2. Disconnect brake hoses from pipelines.
3. Muffle hoses and pipelines to prevent leak of a liquid from a hydrodrive of brakes.
4. Take hoses aside and fix them.
5. Расшплинтуйте nuts of fingers of external hinges of steering draughts and...
6.... Turn away them.
7. Establish a stripper and выпрессуйте fingers of hinges from rotary levers.
8. Turn away a nut of fastening of extensions to longerons of a body and...
9.... Bolts of fastening of extensions to a cross-beam.
10. Remove washers. Do not forget to establish them at assemblage.
11. Remove extensions.
12. Turn away a nut of fastening of pillows of forward support of the engine and remove them together with washers.
13. Turn away a nut скоб stabilizer fastenings to the bottom levers...
14.... Also remove скобы.
15. Raise the engine a jack and fix it in this position.
16. Turn away a nut of fastening of a cross-beam to a body and...
17.... Remove a cross-beam in gathering with a reducer and suspension bracket knots.

       GOOD ADVICE
Having taken advantage of that the cross-beam is removed, estimate a condition of pillows of support of the engine. In the presence of mechanical damages of a rubber file or a separation of rubber from armature, and also signs of ageing of rubber replace support.

18. In need of cross-beam replacement disconnect from it a reducer of the forward bridge and suspension bracket knots.
19. Establish a cross-beam in an order, the return to removal.

       THE PREVENTION
On termination of work do not forget to remove air from brake system (Prorolling of a hydrodrive of brake system see).
