The twisting moment is transferred to forward wheels from a reducer of the forward bridge through the right and left drives. Both drives are identical on a design. Each drive consists of a shaft 4 (rice 5.9) and two hinges of the equal angular speeds established on it шлицевых the ends.


The case of the internal hinge 1 is connected to a semiaxial gear wheel of a reducer of the forward bridge. The case of the external hinge 13 is connected to a nave of a forward wheel. The holder 11 is connected to the case 13 through balls 10 which are located in case and holder grooves.
The holder is established on шлицы a shaft 4, rests against a ring 7 and is fixed on a shaft by a lock ring 12. This ring freely passes In the compressed condition through шлицевое connection of a holder 11 that allows both to connect, and to separate the hinge and a shaft.
The case of the internal hinge 1 differs from the case of the external hinge of 13 that has direct grooves.

       GOOD ADVICE
Hinges of drives are very durable, their settlement resource is almost equal to a car resource. However in operation them change or repair often enough. Such work is expensive enough and labour-consuming. Seriously to save, regularly check a condition of protective covers of hinges and immediately replace them at the slightest damages. If water or a dust gets to the hinge through the damaged cover, it will fail through some hundreds kilometres of run. The tight hinge wears out extremely slowly.

Removal and installation of drives of forward wheels
It be required to you: keys «on 13», «on 17», «on 27», a key for nuts of wheels.
1. Disconnect forward propeller a shaft from a reducer of the forward bridge (Removal and installation карданной transfers »see«).
2. Will hang out the car and remove forward wheels.
3. Disconnect shock-absorbers from the bottom levers of a forward suspension bracket («Replacement of the shock-absorber of a forward suspension bracket» see).
4. Turn on on three nuts of fastening of cases of bearings of the internal hinge of the right and left drives.
5. Turn out a bolt of fastening of the right cover of the bearing of a reducer of the forward bridge to a cross-beam of a forward suspension bracket.
6. Turn away four nuts of fastening скоб suspension brackets of a reducer of the forward bridge.
7. Turn away a nut and remove a bolt of fastening of the left cover of the bearing of a reducer of the forward bridge to a cross-beam of a forward suspension bracket.
8. Raise a reducer of the forward bridge and fix it in this position by any accessible way.
9. Remove a cap of a nave of a forward wheel and turn away a nave nut.

       GOOD ADVICE
The nave nut is tightened by the big moment. Therefore we recommend to use a head with strong воротком.

10. Remove a nut and aligning plug.
11. Compress a suspension bracket spring, having raised a jack the bottom lever. Turn away three nuts and take out from the lever bolts of a spherical support.
12. Take a rotary fist aside.
13. Disconnect a reception pipe from a final collector and neutralizer of the fulfilled gases and take away it to the engine (for removal of the left drive this operation is not required).
14. Take away a reducer back and...
15.... Remove the right drive.
16. Similarly remove the left drive.
17. Establish drives and all removed details in an order, the return to removal. At an inhaling of nuts of naves of wheels adjust a backlash in bearings (Check and backlash adjustment in bearings of naves of forward wheels »see«).

Dismantling and assemblage of drives of forward wheels
If during movement at car turns knocks in a forward drive are audible, check up hinges of equal angular speeds. If at rocking of a shaft of a drive by a hand it is felt люфт or грязезащитные covers are torn, it is necessary to replace such hinge. To assort the hinge practically it is not meaningful. It is work labour-consuming, and at the torn cover the dirt which has got to the hinge already has put out of commission hinge details. Separately it is impossible to replace hinge details, and consequently the most optimum – to replace the hinge in gathering, and also it грязезащитный a cover. Occurrence of traces of greasing on the hinge specifies that the cover is torn.

2.... Small collars from a cover of the internal hinge.
3. Shift a cover on a shaft.
4. Bring down the hinge from a shaft by means of a hammer and the wooden prorate, putting blows on a holder end face.
5. For dismantling of the internal hinge, having hooked a screw-driver, remove a lock ring of a holder.
6. Take from the hinge a holder in gathering with a separator and balls.

       THE PREVENTION
With any accessible way mark balls and holder grooves to establish balls on former places.

7. By means of a screw-driver and пассатижей...

9.... Small collars of a casing of a cover of the external hinge.
10. Shift a casing and...
11.... A cover on a shaft.
12. Bring down the hinge from a shaft by means of a hammer and the wooden prorate, putting blows on a holder end face.
13. Remove from a shaft a cover and a casing.
14. Wash out all metal details kerosene before full removal of old greasing.
15. Fill the hinge with greasing ШРУС-4 (quantity of greasing for the external hinge – 60 sm3 for internal – 150 sm3);
16. Establish the hinge and the removed details in an order, the return to removal.
