Features of a design
The forward bridge of car Chevrolet Niva represents the main transfer and the differential established in one картере. Differential, gear wheels of the main transfer and bearings of a reducer of forward and back bridges are identical («the Back bridge») see. Carter of a reducer of the forward bridge cast, in front and from below is closed by covers. Covers crankcase are condensed by linings.

Oil replacement in a reducer of the forward bridge
According to the service book in a reducer of the forward bridge it is necessary to replace oil through each 45 000 km of run.
It be required to you: a key «on 17», шестигранник «on 12», a syringe for pouring трансмиссионного oils, capacity for the fulfilled oil.

       GOOD ADVICE
This operation is more convenient for carrying out on a viewing ditch or on the lift.
It is recommended to merge oil right after trips while the forward bridge has not cooled down also oil possesses good fluidity.

1. Turn away a drain stopper and...
2.... Merge oil in capacity.
3. Wrap a drain stopper.
4. Turn away a jellied stopper.
5. Fill in fresh oil by means of a syringe to level of the bottom edge of a jellied aperture.
6. Wrap a jellied stopper.

Replacement of an epiploon of a leading gear wheel of a reducer of the forward bridge
Epiploon replace new at detection of a leak of oil («Check of tightness of consolidations of the back bridge» see).
It be required to you: keys «on 13», «on 24», a screw-driver, динамометрический a key, a hammer.

       THE NOTE
Necessity of replacement of an epiploon is defined by volume of leak of oil.
Before check of volume of leak check up freedom of moving of a cover сапуна in all directions to be convinced that сапун («the Forward bridge» see, «Feature of a design») is not at the bottom of oil leak.
Check up oil level in картере the bridge and finish to norm if necessary. Do not forget to wrap a stopper маслоналивного an aperture.
If you work on a viewing ditch, will hang out the back bridge and put it on support.
Start up the engine, include direct (IV) transfer and at the established indication of a speedometer of 90-100 km/h allow to the bridge to work not less than 15 mines for oil warming up (the oil temperature should be 80–90 °С).
By the included direct transfer and the indication of a speedometer of 100 km/h define quantity of following oil. If for 15 mines follows more than 5 drops of oil, the epiploon is subject to replacement.

1. Before epiploon replacement switch off transfer and muffle the engine.
2. Merge oil from crankcase the forward bridge (oil Replacement in a reducer of the forward bridge »see«). Do not forget to wrap a stopper маслосливного an aperture.
3. Disconnect forward propeller a shaft from a flange of a leading gear wheel of a reducer of the forward bridge.
4. Deduce cases of internal hinges of drives of forward wheels from gearing with gear wheels of semiaxes of a reducer of the forward bridge (Removal and installation of drives of forward wheels »see«).
5. Define the moment of resistance to rotation of a nut of a flange of a leading gear wheel and replace an epiploon to similarly replacement of an epiploon of a leading gear wheel of the back bridge («Replacement of an epiploon of a leading gear wheel of a reducer of the back bridge» see).
6. Establish the removed knots and details in an order, the return to removal.
7. Fill in oil in a reducer (oil Replacement in a reducer of the forward bridge »see«).

Replacement of the bearing and epiploon of the case of the internal hinge of a drive and arm of fastening of the forward bridge
It be required to you: a hammer, small beards, a stripper of lock rings, hermetic.
1. Remove a drive of a forward wheel (Removal and installation of drives of forward wheels »see«).
2. Remove a lock ring of the bearing.
3. By means of a hammer and the wooden prorate bring down and...
4.... Remove the case and the bearing from a shaft.
5. Using a hammer and small beards...
6.... Remove an epiploon.
7. Grease a working edge of an epiploon трансмиссионным with oil...
8.... And on an external surface apply a thin film hermetic.
9. By means of a hammer accurately запрессуйте an epiploon in the case.
10. Establish details in an order, the return to removal.

Removal and installation of a reducer of the forward bridge
Reducer of the forward bridge remove for replacement or repair. However dismantling, adjustment and assemblage of a reducer demand use of the special equipment and assume presence of skills at the executor. Reducer repair in garage conditions practically never leads to desirable result. Therefore in case of need reducer repair take advantage of services of a specialised workshop.
It be required to you: keys «on 13», «on 17», «on 27», шестигранник «on 12», a key for nuts of wheels, a chisel, a hammer, a syringe for pouring трансмиссионного oils, capacity for the fulfilled oil.
1. Remove forward wheels.
2. Merge oil from crankcase a reducer of the forward bridge (oil Replacement in a reducer of the forward bridge »see«).
3. Disconnect forward propeller a shaft from a reducer of the forward bridge (Removal and installation карданной transfers »see«).
4. Turn away a nut and take out a bolt of fastening of the left cover of the bearing of a reducer of the forward bridge to a cross-beam of a forward suspension bracket.
5. Remove a drive of the right forward wheel («Removal of drives of forward wheels» see).
6. Turn away three nuts of fastening of a cover of the bearing of the internal hinge of the left drive to a reducer of the forward bridge.
7. Develop a rotary fist that it has pulled behind itself(himself) a drive...
8.... Disconnect a reducer from a drive and...
9.... Remove it.
10. Establish a reducer of the forward bridge and the removed details in an order, the return to removal.
11. Fill in oil in a reducer (oil Replacement in a reducer of the forward bridge »see«).
