8.4. Replacement of a brake liquid

Replace a brake liquid in a hydrodrive of brakes of times in two years irrespective of car run.
Before replacement of a brake liquid check up tightness of a hydrodrive («Check of tightness of a hydrodrive» see) and eliminate malfunctions.
It be required to you: a key «on 8», a brake liquid, a rubber or transparent hose, a transparent vessel.

       RECOMMENDATIONS
Replacement of a brake liquid is recommended to be spent with the assistant, having established preliminary the car on a viewing ditch, a platform or the lift.
Apply only those brake liquids which are recommended by manufacturer.
Sequence of replacement of a liquid in brake mechanisms:
– The back right;
– The forward left;
– The back left;
– The forward right.

       PREVENTIONS
Do not use the liquid merged from system repeatedly: it is polluted, sated by air and a moisture. Always add in system only a new liquid of that mark which has been filled in before. A brake liquid гигроскопична (absorbs a moisture from air), therefore it cannot be stored in open container.


1. Turn away a cover of a tank of a hydrodrive with a float of the gauge of level.
2. Add in a tank a pure brake liquid to the bottom edge of a bulk mouth.
3. Remove forward wheels.
4. Clear of a dirt valves of release of air and remove protective caps of valves of working cylinders of lobbies and...
5.... Back brake mechanisms.
6. If you work on the lift (back wheels are hung out), preliminary unblock a regulator of pressure of back brake mechanisms, having inserted a screw-driver between an arm 1 and the screw 2.
7. Put on a rubber hose the valve of release of air of the right back brake mechanism and ship the hose end in a pure transparent vessel.
8. The assistant should press sharply a pedal of a brake of 4-5 times (with an interval between pressing 1–2) then to keep a pedal of the pressed.
9. Turn on on 1/2–3/4 turns the valve of release of air. Old (dirty) will start to follow from a hose
Brake liquid. Thus the brake pedal should reach smoothly against the stop. As soon as the liquid will cease to follow, wrap the valve of release of air.

       THE NOTE
Constantly watch liquid level in a tank, without supposing its decrease to a bottom edge of an arm of fastening of a tank, and if necessary add a new brake liquid not to admit air hit in a hydrodrive. You will provide with it gradual replacement of an old liquid of new hydrosystem without drainage.

10. With the same way replace a brake liquid in the left forward brake mechanism...

THE NOTE
At replacement of a brake liquid in brake mechanisms of forward wheels use both valves: both top, and bottom.

11.... And then in the second contour (at first in the left back brake mechanism, then in the right forward). Press some times a brake pedal. Thus the course and resistance of a pedal should be constants by each pressing. If these conditions are not carried out, means, air has got to brake system and it is necessary for pumping over («Prorolling of a hydrodrive of brake system») see.
12. Repeat operations 8–11 before full replacement of a liquid in a drive (the hose should leave a pure liquid without air vials).
13. After replacement of a brake liquid necessarily put on protective caps valves of release of air.
14. Add a brake liquid to level between labels «MIN» and «MAX» on a tank wall. Wrap a tank cover.
15. Check up quality of the performed work: press some times a brake pedal, thus a course of a pedal and effort to it should be identical by each pressing. If it not so, spend prorolling of a hydrodrive of brake system («Prorolling of a hydrodrive of brake system» see).
16. Check up work of the gauge of insufficient level of the brake liquid established in a cover of a tank. For this purpose include ignition and press the button on a tank cover – the control lamp in a combination of devices should light up.
