1.14. Control levers transmission

On the car the five-speed transmission, a distributing box with демультипликатором and the blocked interaxal differential are established.
Transmission operate according to the scheme of switchings put on the handle of its lever.

       THE PREVENTION
Reverse gear include only at completely stopped car.

On fig. 1.15 schemes of a gear change and position of the lever of a distributing box are resulted.
At a choice of positions of the lever 2 distributing boxes consider car service conditions. The lever can occupy following positions:
I – the higher transfer is included, the differential is unblocked;
II – neutral position;
III – the lowest transfer is included, the differential is unblocked;
IV – the higher transfer is included, the differential is blocked;
V – neutral position;
VI – the lowest transfer is included, the differential is blocked.
To switch transfers to a distributing box with the lowest number to the higher it is possible in movement. Thus to a gear change apply reception double выжима couplings.

       THE PREVENTION
The lowest transfer to a distributing box include only after a full stop of the car or on small speed (1–5 km/h).

For overcoming of steep slopes, at movement on weak грунтам, and also for reception of steady minimum speed at movement on roads with a firm covering preliminary include the lowest transfer to a distributing box.
For overcoming of almost impassable sites of road block interaxal differential, having switched the lever in corresponding position (fig. 1.15 see).

       THE PREVENTION
Inclusion of blocking of interaxal differential during movement on high speeds is inadmissible, as it will inevitably lead to dangerous drift of the car.

It is desirable to block differential on a slippery covering for what it is necessary to stop the car and to pass about 1 m in the opposite direction or to admit partial proslipping of wheels. On a firm covering execute movement on a curvilinear trajectory about 1 m, switch off coupling and include differential blocking.

       PREVENTIONS
In order to avoid transmission breakages:
– Avoid switchings at slipping wheels;
– At the complicated blocking of differential do not put excessive efforts, for accurate inclusion of blocking repeat blocking procedure;
– After overcoming of almost impassable sites necessarily immediately unblock interaxal differential – movement of the car with high speed on good roads with the blocked differential is accompanied by deterioration of controllability of the car, reduces service life of mechanisms of transmission, increases the expense of fuel and deterioration of tyres, and at braking can lead to car drift.

       GOOD ADVICE
If the differential unblocking on the motionless car is complicated, carry out it in rectilinear movement in the opposite direction.
