3.1. The engine is not got

Problems with start-up of the automobile engine can be divided on two basic groups depending on degree of heating of the engine.

From the moment of engine deenergizing has passed not less than 6 ч at temperature of external air +20 °С and not less than 3 ч at–20 °С, the oil temperature in картере the engine coincides with an ambient temperature. Receptions of start-up of the engine with system of injection of fuel same at any temperature of external air.

1. Open a cowl, having pulled on itself the handle of a drive of its lock.

If the engine was not got, there are three principal causes:

– The start-up system does not work;

– The ignition system does not work;

– The power supply system does not work.

For start-up only include a starter, without touching an accelerator pedal. The control system of the engine will independently establish parametres of giving of fuel necessary for start-up and ignition.

GOOD ADVICE If for any reason during unsuccessful attempt of start-up spark plugs are filled in", take advantage of a mode of"purge"of cylinders. For this purpose press an accelerator pedal against the stop and include a starter. In this mode fuel giving is absent and from cylinders a stream of fresh air superfluous gasoline leaves, thus spark plugs dry. After a purge repeat start-up attempt regularly.

Malfunctions in start-up system are shown in abnormal work of a starter. It is possible to allocate five basic malfunctions of a starter:

1. The starter does not join. The reason – infringement of contact connections, breakage or short circuit in chains of inclusion of a starter, malfunction of the traction relay.

2. At starter inclusion repeated clicks are audible. The reason – malfunction of a keeping winding of the traction relay, is strongly discharged the storage battery, contact connections in a starter chain are weakened.

3. The starter joins, but its anchor either does not rotate, or rotates slowly. The reason – is discharged the storage battery, infringement of contact connections, подгорание contacts of the traction relay, pollution of a collector or a deterioration of brushes, междувитковое or short circuit in windings.

4. The starter joins, its anchor rotates, but the flywheel remains motionless. The reason – easing of fastening of a starter to картеру couplings, damage of teeths of a flywheel or a drive gear wheel, proslipping муфты a free wheeling of a drive, lever breakage, поводкового a ring or a buffer spring of a drive of a starter.

5. The starter is not switched off after engine start-up. The reason – malfunction муфты a starter free wheeling, sintering of contacts of the traction relay. In case of such malfunction immediately stop the engine!

The specified malfunctions demand the qualified intervention on car-care centre or after arrival to garage (section 9 "Electric equipment" see). It is preliminary possible to check up only degree разряженности the storage battery by means of the voltmeter in combinations of devices and an inhaling of contact connections in a starter chain.

THE PREVENTION On your car the system of ignition of high energy is established microprocessor (МПСЗ). Pressure of an order is brought to high-voltage wires 40 000 In and though at small size of a current it is not life-threatening, possible blow by a current at check of system of ignition can lead to serious consequences. GOOD ADVICE Before check of system of ignition establish the gear change lever in neutral position and leave included a lay brake.

1. At the switched off ignition check up an integrity and landing of high-voltage wires in the ignition module.	2. Disconnect a socket of a plait of wires from pad a low-voltage chain of the module of ignition...

3.... Also check up a tester included in a mode of measurement of small currents (mA), a low-voltage chain of the module on breakage, having connected щупы a tester to contacts C and In pad.	4. If the low-voltage chain of the module of ignition is serviceable, for check of serviceability of a chain of a high voltage of the module and high-voltage wires check up spark presence on spark plugs. Remove a high-voltage wire from any spark plug. Insert into a wire tip a spare spark plug and press its metal part to "weight" of the car. Turn a starter a cranked shaft of the engine.

5. If the spark is not present, replace high-voltage wires new. It is possible preliminary to try to establish not new, but checked up, «from the working car».

6. If after replacement of wires the spark has not appeared, replace the ignition module (section 9 "Electric equipment" see).Если a spark is, but the engine is not got, replace spark plugs new. It is possible preliminary also to try to establish not new, but checked up, «from the working car».
