4.9. Installation of the piston of the fourth cylinder in position ВМТ of a step of compression

The piston of 4th cylinder in position ВМТ (the top dead point) compression step establish that at the work, connected with removal of a chain of a drive of a camshaft, installation of phases timing was not broken. At infringement of phases timing the engine will normally not work. Expose ВМТ on a label on a camshaft asterisk (at installation on labels on a pulley of a cranked shaft and on a forward cover of a chain of a drive of a camshaft in this position there can be a piston either 1st, or 4th cylinder). After that be convinced of coincidence of labels on a pulley of a cranked shaft and a cover. If thus shaft labels do not coincide, means, installation of phases timing (the piston of 4th cylinder is not established in ВМТ) is broken. In this case it is necessary to remove a chain of a drive of a camshaft from an asterisk of a camshaft and to turn a cranked shaft before combination of labels (Check and installation of phases timing on labels »see«).

GOOD ADVICE To turn a cranked shaft it is possible in the next ways. 1. Get a special key for проворачивания a cranked shaft for a nut of fastening of a pulley. This key it is possible to turn a cranked shaft and from above a motor compartment (in a photo the radiator is removed for descriptive reasons). 2. Include 4th transfer and slowly прокатите the car in the necessary party before label coincidence on an asterisk of a camshaft with a label on the case of bearings of a camshaft. 3. Include 4th transfer and will hang out one of back wheels. Then turn the hung out wheel in the necessary party before label coincidence on an asterisk of a camshaft with a label on the case of bearings of a camshaft.

Labels are located on a camshaft asterisk (лунка) and on the case of bearings of a camshaft (ledge).

THE NOTE The cover of a head of the block of cylinders is removed.

Besides, labels are put in moulding on a cover of a chain of a drive of a camshaft (ledge) and on a gear wreath of a pulley of a cranked shaft (лунка on a wreath edge). For descriptive reasons the photo is made on the car with the removed radiator, however under a certain point of view they are visible and from the top part of a motor compartment.
