Cooling system – liquid, the closed type, with compulsory circulation of a liquid, with a broad tank. The pump of a cooling liquid 2 (fig. 4.12) centrifugal type, is put in action from a pulley of a cranked shaft клиновым (or in alternative execution поликлиновым) by a belt.
Electrofans 6 with plastic крыльчатками are established in the general casing fixed on a back surface of a radiator 11, and force air through a radiator core in подкапотное space. Switches on and off electrofans depending on temperature of a cooling liquid the gauge 5 screwed in a reception branch pipe of a water shirt of a head of the block of cylinders.

The thermostat 15 with firm thermosensitive наполнителем has the basic 9 (fig. 4.13) and перепускной 2 valves. The beginning of opening of the basic valve at temperature охлаждаюшей liquids 79–82 °С, a course of the basic valve not less than 6 mm.
Radiator 11 (fig. 4.12 see) – horizontal, trubchato-lamellar, aluminium with plastic tanks.
Cooling liquid fill in through a mouth of a broad tank 18. The stopper of a broad tank has inlet and final valves.
The cooling system is filled by a cooling liquid of Tosol-A40M.

       THE NOTE
The replacement procedure of a cooling liquid is described in the beginning of section 4 "Engine".

       THE PREVENTION
It is not recommended to fill system of cooling with water as the antifreeze structure includes anticorrosive and antimaking foam additives, and also the additives interfering adjournment of a scum.

Adjustment of a tension and replacement of a belt of a drive of the water pump and the generator
The insufficient tension of a belt worsens liquid circulation in cooling system that leads to an engine overheat. Additional charge of the storage battery besides worsens and повышенно the belt wears out.
At too strong tension bearings of the water pump and the generator can fail.
Check a tension of a belt of a drive of the water pump and the generator from above in подкапотном space.

The tension is characterised by size of a deflection of a belt between pulleys of the pump and a cranked shaft (deflection) (fig. 4.14) or pulleys of the generator and the pump (deflection) at the appendix of effort 98,1 Н (10 кгс) in the middle of distance between pulleys. The deflection And should be 10–15 mm, a deflection In – 12–17 mm.

       GOOD ADVICE
More conveniently to check tension A.Dlja's deflection of check it is possible to use spring scales-steelyards, having hooked on their hook on a branch of a belt and delaying it upwards.

Belt tension regulate on the car established on the lift or a viewing ditch. Adjustment is carried out by moving of the generator concerning the engine.
It be required to you: a key «on 13», an assembly shovel.
1. Remove protection oil crankcase and an engine mudguard (Removal and installation of protection oil crankcase and an engine mudguard »see«).
2. Ослабьте approximately on one turn a nut of fastening of the generator to a tension lath and...
3.... A nut of the bottom fastening of the generator.
4. For increase in a tension of a belt move the generator from the engine.

       THE PREVENTION
Moving the generator for increase in a tension of a belt, effort put only to the generator case, placing an assembly shovel between the case and the engine.

5. For reduction of a tension of a belt by a hand move
The generator to the engine.
6. Without changing generator position, tighten a nut of fastening of the generator to a tension lath and a nut of the bottom fastening of the generator.

       THE NOTE
The inhaling moments:
– Nuts of fastening of the generator to a tension lath 28,08–45,3 Н·м (2,9–4,6 кгс·м);
– Nuts of the bottom fastening of the generator 57,3–72 Н·м (5,95–7,35 кгс·м).

7. Establish protection oil crankcase and an engine mudguard in an order, the return to removal.
8. For belt replacement turn out the screw of the gauge of position of a cranked shaft and take the gauge from an arm nest, without disconnecting a wire.
9. Remove a belt of a drive of the pump of the hydraulic booster of a steering (Check of a tension and adjustment of a belt of a drive of the pump of the hydraulic booster »see«).
10. Execute operations 2 and 3, the tension of a belt provided for adjustment, and move up the generator to the engine against the stop.

11. Remove a belt at first from a pump pulley, then from pulleys of the generator and a cranked shaft.
12. Put on a new belt at first a pulley of a cranked shaft, then on a pulley of the generator and then on a pump pulley.

       GOOD ADVICE
If the new belt is hardly put on a pump pulley, and the generator thus is against the stop shifted to the engine, accurately turn a pulley of the pump a hand or slowly turn a cranked shaft before full putting on of a belt on a pulley. To turn a cranked shaft ask the assistant.

13. Execute the operations 2–6 provided for adjustment of a tension of a belt.
14. Establish into place the gauge of position of a cranked shaft.
As the variant on the car can be established one поликлиновой a belt serving by a drive of all auxiliary units (the water pump, the generator and the pump of the hydraulic booster of a steering). Thus the generator is established to the left of the engine above.

In this case a belt tension check its deflection between pulleys of the generator and the water pump. At a normal tension of a belt a deflection «h» (fig. 4.15) under the influence of the concentrated loading «Р» 75 Н (7,6 кгс) should be equal (12±1) mm.
Regulate a tension of a belt moving of a tension roller 3, rotating a bolt 5 натяжителя at the weakened nuts of 8 fastenings of an arm 4 натяжителя. After adjustment turn a cranked shaft of the engine on two turns and again check up a belt tension.

       THE PREVENTION
Do not pull a belt too strongly not to cause the raised loadings on bearings of the generator, the water pump and the pump of the hydraulic booster of a steering.

Replacement of a radiator and electrofans of system of cooling
It be required to you: a key «on 10», a screw-driver.
1. Disconnect a wire from "the minus" plug of the storage battery.
2. Remove protection oil crankcase and an engine mudguard (Removal and installation of protection oil crankcase and an engine mudguard »see«).
3. Merge a liquid from cooling system («Replacement of a cooling liquid» see).
4. Remove radiator facing (Removal and installation of facing of a radiator »see«).
5. Disconnect pad plaits of wires from electrofans.
6. Turn out bolts top and...
7.... Lateral fastening of the top casing of a radiator and...
8.... Remove a casing.
9. Turn out bolts of fastening of the top fastening...
10.... Turn away a nut of the bottom fastening of the bottom casing of a radiator and...
11.... Remove a casing.
12. Ослабьте a collar of fastening also remove from a thermostat branch pipe the bottom hose of a radiator.
13. Turn out bolts of fastening of both top arms of a radiator and remove arms.
14. Push forward the top part of a radiator, ослабьте a collar of fastening of the top hose and, in addition having pushed a radiator forward, remove a hose from its branch pipe.
15. The Manufacturer recommends to remove a radiator, without separating it with a casing of electrofans, however in practice the collar of fastening of the bottom hose of a radiator is thus inaccessible. Therefore disconnect a casing, having turned away a nut of its top fastening and...
16.... Four bolts of lateral fastening.
17. Push a radiator forward on the greatest possible distance.
18. Through the formed backlash between a casing and a radiator ослабьте a collar of fastening of the bottom hose and...
19.... Having pulled a hose from outside a motor compartment, remove it from a radiator branch pipe.
20. Remove a radiator and...
21.... A casing in gathering with electrofans.
22. For electrofan replacement turn away three nuts of its fastening to a casing, remove the washers established under nuts and disconnect the electrofan from a casing. The new electrofan establish in sequence, return to removal.
23. Wash out a radiator outside a stream of water and dry. If on plastic tanks of a radiator there are cracks, replace a radiator.
24. Check up tightness of a radiator for what muffle radiator branch pipes, bring to it air under the pressure of 0,1 МПа (1 kgs/sm2) and lower in capacity with water not less than on 30 with. Негерметичность a radiator it is defined on leaving vials of air. If the radiator is not located in capacity entirely, check it consistently from different directions.
25. Establish a radiator and all removed details in sequence, return to removal.

       GOOD ADVICE
Further to exclude possibility подтекания a cooling liquid, before installation grease radiator branch pipes with a thin layer of silicone hermetic.

26. Fill in cooling liquid and remove from cooling system air stoppers («Replacement of a cooling liquid» see).

Replacement of the water pump
The pump remove for repair or replacement at occurrence during its work of the noise which level exceeds usual, and leaks of a cooling liquid.
The bearing and epiploon are established in a cover of the pump with a tightness, besides, a nave of a pulley and крыльчатка напрессованы on the platen. In this connection pump dismantling is labour-consuming enough, therefore we recommend to replace at malfunction a cover in gathering with all entering details.
It be required to you: keys «on 13», «on 17», a screw-driver, plasticine, a calliper.

       THE NOTE
The water pump remove without removal of a radiator of system of cooling. In photos the radiator is removed for descriptive reasons.

1. Merge a liquid from cooling system («Replacement of a cooling liquid» see).
2. Ослабьте three bolts of fastening of a pulley, keeping it from проворачивания a screw-driver.
3. Definitively turn out bolts of fastening of a pulley and remove it together with a belt.
4. Turn away a nut of a bolt of fastening of the generator to a tension lath...
5.... Take out a bolt and take away the generator from the engine.
6. Turn away four nuts of fastening of a cover of the pump, remove washers.
7. A screw-driver accurately separate a cover from the case and remove it.
8. Remove a cover lining.

       THE NOTE
Strongly pressed out or torn lining replace.

9. Clear привалочную a plane of the case of the lining rests.
10. Turn away a nut of fastening and remove from a cover a tension lath.

       THE PREVENTION
Before installation of a new cover (in gathering) necessarily check up a backlash between shovels крыльчатки and the pump case. It should be 0,9–1,3 mm. At too big backlash pump giving will be lowered, and at too small – is possible задевание shovels крыльчатки for walls of the case and their breakage.

11. For backlash check between крыльчаткой and the pump case make of plasticine three "columns" and establish them between shovels so...
12.... That they acted over shovels on 2–3 mm.
13. Establish a lining on a cover.
14. Establish a cover on the case, having tightened four nuts.
15. Uncover. "Columns" will be compressed.
16. Define a calliper выступание "columns" over shovels. Value выступания is equal to a backlash between shovels and the pump case.
17. Remove "columns" and establish a cover and the removed details in an order, the return to removal.
18. Adjust a tension of a belt of a drive of the water pump and the generator (Adjustment of a tension and replacement of a belt of a drive of the water pump and the generator »see«).
19. Fill in cooling liquid and remove from cooling system air stoppers («Replacement of a cooling liquid» see).

Thermostat replacement
Necessity for thermostat removal can arise for its replacement at an astable temperature mode of the engine – an overheat or insufficient warming up. Thus completely to merge cooling liquid it is not required. For thermostat check on the car start up the engine and touch a hand the bottom hose of a radiator – it should be cold. After the temperature of a cooling liquid will reach 80–85 °С, the hose should start to heat up. If it does not occur, remove the thermostat and check up its working capacity.

       THE PREVENTION
To remove the thermostat it is necessary only on completely cooled down engine.

The screw-driver is required to you.
1. Merge a part of a cooling liquid, having turned out a stopper from an aperture for plum of a liquid of the block of cylinders («Replacement of a cooling liquid» see).
2. Ослабьте collars of fastening also remove from branch pipes of the thermostat a hose of a supply of a cooling liquid to throttle knot...
3.... The bottom hose of a radiator...
4.... An intermediate hose of a supply of a cooling liquid in a heater radiator...
5.... The bottom hose of the block of cylinders.
6. Ослабьте a collar of the top hose of the block of cylinders and...
7.... Having extended the thermostat from the top hose of the block of cylinders, remove it.
8. Before installation check up the thermostat for what lower it in the water which has been warmed up till 70-75 °С. Heat up water, constantly mixing it, to (80±2) °С.
9. At temperature (80±2) °С the basic valve of the thermostat should start to open. If it does not occur, replace the thermostat.
10. Establish the new thermostat in an order, the return to removal.

       GOOD ADVICE
Further to exclude possibility подтекания a cooling liquid, before installation grease thermostat branch pipes with a thin layer of silicone hermetic.

11. Fill in cooling liquid and remove from cooling system air stoppers («Replacement of a cooling liquid» see).
